Cooking with Daddy!

Headbands

We have been growing out Ainslie's hair again, and it is finally at the point where we can do a ponytail.  Ainslie is not always excited about having her hair in a ponytail, but I know that I can get her if I suggest that we add a headband!  She is going through a headband craze!!

Pretty cute Miss Ainslie!  :)

Sick...

The girls and I were sick this week, so we spent a LOT of time at home playing, resting, and taking bubble baths!  Needless to say, there were not many "Kodak" moments, but I did snap this one that pretty much captures the week!

Halloween Cookie Decorating!

Ainslie and Emilie's Grandma sent a gift box full of pumpkin and ghost shaped sugar cookies, vanilla and chocolate buttercream frosting, and an assortment of sprinkles for us to have our own cookie decorating party!  We had so much fun decorating (and eating ;) our cookies!  Thanks for such a fun gift for Halloween Grandma!!!

Weekend in St. Louis!!

We spent this past weekend in St. Louis visiting my brother and his family.  We get the cousins together every couple of months, whether we go to St. Louis or they come to KC!  The kids have so much fun together!!  We arrived Friday evening and spent Saturday morning playing in their backyard, and the afternoon watching the girls cousin, Andrew play soccer.  We had dinner back at the house Saturday night and a little Halloween party with the kids!  As always, the weekend went way too fast.  We were sad to leave, but we know that we will get to see them again soon!

Emilie is 17 Months!

Emilie's vocabulary is really developing!  She can say, Uh Oh, OK, Cup, Elmo, More, Thank You, Help, Bubble Bath (her favorite!), Duck and "quacks" like one, she "hoots" like an owl, and "moo's" like a cow, too!

She gets better and more stable with her walking everyday.  Her favorite activity is walking her toy puppy around the house!  Her favorite character is Elmo, which is who she picked from the store to put on her pumpkin.  She walks by the front door at least 10 times a day and looks out the window at her pumpkin and exclaims, "ELMO!"  :)

She still loves to snuggle after nap time or when she is sleepy!  She sleeps with two teddy bears, a bear blankie, a bunny blankie, a pillow and blanket.  She is definitely following in her big sisters' footsteps!

She wears 18-24 month clothes and runs around in all of Ainslie's hand me down shoes!  :)

Neighborhood Fall Potluck

Our builders throw a Fall Potluck every year for the Brookwood Farms neighborhood.  It is a chance to get to know our neighbors, as well as have dinner, drinks, and watch the kiddos bounce around!!  It was a beautiful, sunny fall day and we had so much fun!

Pumpkins...

Michael helped the girls decorate their pumpkins this weekend in preparation for Halloween!  Emme picked out Elmo, her favorite character, while Ainslie went with a jack-o-lantern!

Ainslie's Quote of the Week

Ainslie was sitting with her Daddy this past weekend and they were having a conversation.  I was in the kitchen, not paying much attention to the two of them, when I overheard Ainslie say, "Daddy, you are my superhero!"  One of the sweetest things I have ever heard!

Louisburg Cider Fest!

We took the girls to the Louisburg Cider Mill this morning for Cider Fest!  It was a chilly morning, so we put on our warm clothes, loaded up on coffee and had LOTS of cider donuts!!!

 Giddy up!
